Team bubbles : champagne's collective success

The French region of Champagne used to be Celtic and then Roman. Does this long history influence the way champagne works? Of course. The Celts were acting as a community while Roman's economy was individualistic. This mixed heritage has led to something we may call Celtic capitalism. The houses own only 10% of the vineyard. They rely on the growers for most of the grapes. It ends up in a partnership economy. Houses and growers are competitors and community members at the same time. They may develop their individual profit as long as it complies with champagne's tribe collective interest. Champagne's legend is not only about its product but also about its economical and political organization. How did this mentality survive in today's capitalism based on financial criteria? What role does the Comité Champagne play? Will bubbles embrace the organic and climate change challenges? Can this collective model experiencing reconciliation be inspiring for the 21st century?
